Voltone - Organic Octave Down Fuzz

The Voltone has been a circuit I've been messing with for decades, it started life as a stock Jordan Bosstone, but gradually became its own thing. Huge octave tone with the most surprising beautiful clean up from any setting.

No idea why Ive left it this long to introduce to the line up.

Volume - Volt - Attack

The VOLT control is where all the magic is, CW its a bright full range fuzz with lots of bite, CCW the low octave rears its grubby fat head and adds low octave and fifth overtones almost all cross the fretboard, the result is a huge gnarly output that is supremely inspiring to play. 

If you mess with your tone control, it adds a second layer of complexity and the trumpet tones come flying out too

Single coils are great with this, but its happy place is definitely with humbuckers, Les Pauls in particular. 

For the transistor nerds it has an old Cdil BC108 and an ME BC137 driving it.

Handcrafted in a Northamptonshire garden workshop, the BHS-A BlackHatSound Alpha One Knob Fuzz combines artisanal precision with tonal purity. Featuring a meticulously screen printed and acid-etched enclosure, its circuit is constructed entirely point-to-point  eliminating printed circuit boards to preserve the integrity of your signal. This pedal delivers a refined fuzz tone that resonates with authenticity, offering musicians a subtle yet unmistakable mojo beneath its gunmetal exterior.

Please be aware, these are totally hand built and so there might me some slight cosmetic variation between each pedal. The acid etching process produces a gunmetal patina on the enclosure with will vary from pedal to pedal. This is most noticeable on the sides and imparts a unique character to each pedal. Tonally, I play each one to make sure they sound as good as the first one, before signing off, no tone generator, no gadgets – just a telecaster and my ears.

Please note, all my silicon pedals have a boss style 2.1 center negative DC jack only, there is no battery snap. silicon transistors are not sensitive to DC supply type unlike their germanium counterparts.
