Private Invitation, no fighting the clock, no stress, order at your leisure.

Please listen on headphones for the most accurate audio experience

Built Point to Point in my garden workshop on Northamptonshire, this Dual setting Rangemaster type pedal will open your tone right up and add two pre settable sides of sizzle and cut you didn’t even realise you were missing! If you haven’t used a Rangemaster before its time to redress the balance and get your grit on!

In a gunmetal, acid etched enclosure and built using only top quality components, this pedal looks as good inside as it sounds outside.

The big brother to my 108Master, The LuxMaster takes the Rangemaster from one trick pony to a real all-rounder. The LuxMaster has a huge amount of flexibility thanks to its B side footswitch, and swappable transistors.

Top Mounted Jacks.

You can use the toggle switches and pre set the the Bias and Range control to be included or simply set to max when you step on the B side footswitch. This allows you to dial in a lower gain on the A side and just add some dynamic and sparkle to your core tone, then step on the B switch and take the lead with a much gainier setting.

As with the original there’s a bright switch which will just take the presence down if the boost becomes too spiky for your rig but will maintain the grittyness. Alongside this there is also a toggle to swap between two NOS metal can transistors, choose either BC108C for the higher gain boost or 2N2222A which creates a boost much closer to the original Rangemaster .

This is NOT a clean boost at all, but will still need a slightly gainy amp just on breakup or an overdrive stacked with it for the full effect. They actually sound a bit lifeless into a clean amp and it is still a wonder to me how that translates once it is coupled with something more pushed.  A cooking tube amp or a Klon or a Blues Breaker type pedal set low gain, and goose it hard with the 108 Master for some seriously cool sounds. Your tone will leap out and picking dynamics become so much more prominent and articulate. The range dial can add back some low mids to fill out the sound and this will also add a touch more gain, add to taste, I prefer it dialed right back for lovely open and expressive tones.

A much misunderstood pedal that should be an essential part of any guitarists toolkit. Until you’ve tried one its hard to describe the importance of this pedal. I was late to that party and now can’t live without it.

Points of note.

Due to the circuit design there may be some light crackle as you adjust the boost dial, this is OK. The pot isn’t faulty it just the way it works.

I build these pedals in my garden workshop in Northamptonshire UK. That includes etching and drilling the enclosures, constructing the entire circuit ‘Point to Point’ only linking the components using only there leads, no boards or traces to dilute your signal. I finish the entire pedal to a standard I think looks as good inside, as it sounds on the outside. It might be covered up but when you’re in that moment you KNOW the mojo you have under the hood.

Please be aware, these are totally hand built, so there might me some slight cosmetic variation between each pedal. The gun metal finish is an oxidation process and will vary slightly in shade, and sometimes shows a pleasing uneven patina due the enclosures casting process. Your pedal will age gracefully, as parts of the case wear-polish, usually around the front corners.

I play and adjust each one to make sure they sound as good as the first one i built. The grade and rating of every component has been painstakingly tested and I am proud to put my name to each pedal I sell.

Alpha pots
Neutrick jacks
Vishey resistors
BC108c transistor.
JB capacitors

Please note, all my silicon pedals have a boss style 2.1 center negative DC jack only, there is no battery snap.

RF interference – Many old fuzz circuits are vulnerable to Radio Frequency Interference from a host of different modern electronic devices ranging from lighting to heating controllers to fridges. If you are having problems with RF using one of my pedals here are a few resources that can help. RF interference is not down to a faulty pedal.
